Does Certiva replace Square or Lightspeed?
No. Certiva does not replace your point-of-sale terminal, card processor, or customer-facing checkout. Certiva integrates with Square, Lightspeed and other POS systems to add an day-to-day inventory layer on top of transaction data.
How does Certiva sync with my POS?
Certiva mirrors your POS transactions so stock counts update automatically when sales happen. Adjustments made in Certiva (receiving shipments, transferring stock, writing off damage) flow back so your POS shows current quantities at the register.
If I'm on Square for Retail or Lightspeed Retail, do I still need Certiva?
Not necessarily. Those tiers have richer stock controls than the basic POS plans. If you still feel stockout pain at the higher tier, or you have multiple locations, Certiva typically adds day-to-day visibility that those platforms do not cover well.
What happens to my existing SKUs, suppliers and purchase history when I bring in Certiva?
Existing SKUs and vendor records import from most POS platforms. Historical sales velocity imports where available so reorder suggestions are accurate from day one rather than waiting months to learn your product movement.
Can Certiva handle DME inventory with serialized stock?
Yes. Certiva's DME Workflow Control handles serialized inventory, rentals and equipment cases. That is a specialized use case distinct from general retail inventory and it requires features that Square and Lightspeed do not cover.
